Expecting your first baby, whilst incredibly exciting, can feel very overwhelming at times. Having LucyLou’s friendly face drop into my inbox every week made it feel a lot less daunting. The course is filled with so much information and the homework really helped keep us on track and focused on everything we needed to get done before bub arrived. I was quite nervous about the process of giving birth but the LucyLou Mother Nurture Childbirth course really helped me to understand what my options were and we got to a place of feeling like whatever happens is ok and that every birth is special.

As a first time dad, I couldn’t recommend Lucy’s online course more highly. My wife and I watched the weekly videos together which are short, informative and empowering. We even rewatched a couple of the videos as we got closer to our due date to keep the information fresh in our minds. We went into our labour feeling educated and ready which was particularly helpful for us as our labour took some unexpected turns.
Lucy’s course helped us feel prepared for the decisions we had to make as the labour unfolded which we are extremely grateful for.
Lucy’s style and personality is warm and engaging and this shows through in every part of the course. There are also helpful interviews with other specialists if you want to go deeper into certain topics that interest you.
Lucy’s course is an amazing resource not only for soon-to-be mums, but also for dads as well!

Lucy lou is amazing. The perfect amount of information delivered in a really calm yet empowering and informative way.
I wish I had found Lucy Lou earlier. For my first pregnancy I wanted to be in the know and found myself down the rabbit hole of Dr Google. As a physiotherapist I knew I was doing everything I tell my patients not to do, but I couldn’t help myself. I found myself scrolling through so much unnecessarily, non-evidence-based information that led to more stress. Now pregnant with my second and having even less time, having one portal with all the information I trust in one place has been priceless.
I keep finding myself saying ‘well that makes sense, I wish I knew that last time’. I am feeling excited and empowered leading into the birth of our second little one.
Thank you Lucy!

As wonderful and supportive as my husband is, like many women, I realised that seeing a partner in labour is probably as harrowing for them as it is for us!
After a whirlwind delivery, my husband and I welcomed the birth of our second child. Soon after, my husband was called away to attend to our other child back home. Unfortunately this was when I experienced complications in the birth suite. I felt so alone, "trapped" in my bed with my newborn crying for me on the other side of the room...
I knew that when I decided to have my third child, I wanted the extra attention and support that something like LucyLou could provide.
My third labour was very different. My doctor and I had expected a very fast delivery but sadly this wasn't to be. I remember feeling like I must surely be at the end of the first stage of labour, only to be told that I was just 4cm dilated. I started to lose hope and wondered if my body had forgotten what to do. LucyLou’s words promptly stepped in and helped me place focus on my breathing technique. Her words guided me into positions where I felt most comfortable. I remember her reassuring words that my body would know what it was supposed to do. Remembering LucyLou’s idea of creating a ‘nest’ helped me regain my focus and from here my body relaxed into its natural process again. I knew the intensity was growing with each contraction, and yet it felt manageable because of what LucyLou had taught me.
After a longer than expected drug-free labour, we welcomed our hefty 4.5kg baby into the world!
I’m so grateful for the services of LucyLou and I would certainly enlist their support for any future pregnancy and birth. I simply couldn't imagine doing it any other way.

My husband and I received the childbirth education from LucyLou to help us understand the physiology of birth, what labour management strategies we could choose to employ and how to best prepare for the birth of our daughter.
Lucy was incredibly warm and personable throughout the sessions. She was well prepared with extra information for us to go through and to also read further. Lucy gave practical demonstrations of various support poses that Tim could take to help during contractions e.g. pushing down hard on either side of the lower back and was knowledgeable in explaining the benefits and possible risks of medicinal options such as pethidine.
LucyLou’s knowledge of the physiology of birth helped me understand why certain techniques were beneficial e.g. sitting on a ball during contractions. She was also clear in explaining possible interventions such as an episiotomy and why this might be necessary. In birth I ended up requiring one of these, however having had the education with LucyLou and understanding the benefits for my particular situation, I was at peace at this point of the labour.
These were exceptionally informative and empowering sessions.

My mum and I received the very helpful information on pre labour, natural pain relief options, types of medical interventions available and possible, and the birthing process, techniques and positions. I was 35 weeks pregnant at the time and found this education to be incredibly useful and it really built my confidence in terms of what to expect on the day of the birth, and what I could do to assist with the situation myself. My mum was given advice on how to best support me during the labour including lots of practical tips such as massage, pressure points, and how to help me to stay hydrated and as calm as possible using music, sound, and aromatherapy.
I was able to talk through my fears around tearing and episiotomies, and also discuss the advantages and disadvantages of morphine and epidurals. The education I received helped me to make some plans around what I might like to do during the birth, as I became more aware of potential outcomes.
This will be my first birth so obviously I feel quite nervous however the education I received from LucyLou has reassured me that my body will guide me through, and that the hormones released will assist me, and I now have a toolkit of strategies that I can use to cope with pain and fatigue.
I would highly recommend LucyLou to anyone requiring birth education. LucyLou's expansive knowledge was apparent as she provided very comprehensive answers through her education. LucyLou has a calming presence and years of experience.

LucyLou was an immense support to me in the lead-up to the birth of my first son, as well as during delivery. I reached out to LucyLou at 39 weeks pregnancy, panicking about the ordeal my body and baby were about to endure. Her presence was calm and reassuring. She led me through the entire birthing process and gave me the confidence to trust my body and my baby. Her practical tips were a lifesaver… she really helped me to practically walk through various scenarios around the birth and become mentally prepared.
At 40 weeks and 6 days, following a membrane sweep, I went in to labour. It was 9pm at night. I transferred from home to the hospital at 4am and was 7cms dilated. By 8am I was at my end and by then, I had laboured the entire night without any pain relief and pushed for at least two hours on what I thought was a fully dilated cervix. My midwife recommended some ‘next steps’ but I felt I needed external reassurance on what to do next. It was LucyLou’s words of calmness and reassurance on what needed to happen next that helped me and gave me the confidence to keep going and to trust those providing care to me and my baby.
Our beautiful son was born by 10.15am through a full natural delivery - no pain relief and no mechanical intervention. He was calm, alert, and aware as a newborn. I am so grateful for LucyLou’s wisdom and voice of reason in those last few weeks of pregnancy and during labour. She was a Godsend!

I used LucyLou’s services for both of my births. I found it to be invaluable to me during my epic 30+hour labour with my first. LucyLou felt right there beside me through every contraction as all the strategies and encouragement had been given that I would require. My first labour was particularly long and it was very challenging, I was so grateful for the support we had received prior to it.
The LucyLou content made me feel loved, believed in, encouraged and counselled as it provided so many answers to so many questions; every question under the sun from pregnancy to all-things birth. When baby had arrived, It was all so new and overwhelming but LucyLou had been a calm and stable compass for me.
Having the service again for my second was different but equally valuable. I felt I didn’t need the same intensive support to survive (like i did the first) but treasured LucyLou’s calmness, love and support. LucyLou is a gift and you will be supported from day dot!, you’ll be supported leading into the birth in the most caring, positive and respectful way. I can’t recommend enough!

I used LucyLou’s services for the birth of my first three (of five) children.
LucyLou transformed the atmosphere from being chaotic, unknown and painful to being calm, empowered and informed.
As important as it was for my husband to be at the birth, it was equally to have had LucyLou’s instruction and care. Her soothing voice carried an air of understanding and comfort into my birth. She truly steered me through every contraction making me feel assured that I was promptly moving to the end goals when I felt like giving up.
Her vast experience and information made my situation always feel in control. Her understanding of differing preferences for mums too meant that i felt no judgement.
Lucy is clearly incredibly personable, informed and compassionate and was a constant source of knowledge for me from conception. She is open minded and has great EQ to meet you where you are at and recognise the different priorities of a parent.
I birthed all three 4.2kg-4.56kg babies relatively calmly in the bath. With LucyLou’s help, I was able to have my dream water births.

After my first labour with Luke and not feeling all of it was positive and lacking support just for me, I knew with my twin pregnancy that I needed a support person/ doula / coach / a mother who knew exactly what I was experiencing.
Because of LucyLou’s help, I felt much more peaceful about my support ‘team’.
Norm remembered lots of LucyLou’s suggestions too. Sometimes it was just a cool facecloth, put on my face - exactly what I needed but didn’t even realise it. That was just LucyLou’s way - she seems to know what to do and would also give clear instructions too for my pushing, and i did it!
Before I went into labour I remember having a panic moment ‘I don’t think I can do this…’ but LucyLou had been so calm and had reassured me, that was a turning point for me.
I think the greatest thing a mother needs is to be supported and to have confidence going into labour and my pre/post natal/labour experience was so much richer because of LucyLou. Norm and I still talk about how grateful we were to have had her through that time in our lives.
